Can you introduce yourself in a few words and tell us about your background ?
My name is Sovan Bin, I'm 42 years old, and I have a business degree from Institut Mines-Telecom Business School in Paris. After my studies and three years at Capgemini, I spent six years at Salesforce leading the “Technical Architect” team in Paris, where I was also the first EMEA Certified Technical Architect.
What is your occupation nowadays ?
I’m the CEO of Odaseva, which I founded 10 years ago.
How did you get there ?
I started Odaseva in 2012 thanks to one of Salesforce's top clients.
The journey started when I was a software architect for Salesforce, working closely with Schneider Electric. The Fortune Global 500 company made the bold decision to replace more than 100 legacy systems with a single Salesforce organization. However, their data protection requirements exceeded all available capabilities, and no solution on the AppExchange or Mulesoft platform met the needs of this dynamic global enterprise.
Schneider Electric commissioned a study on how to bring data protection maturity from the on-premises environment to the cloud. As a Salesforce CTA and Program Architect working with Schneider Electric on deployment, they came to me asking for help – and that's how the Odaseva story began.
What is Odaseva ?
Odaseva is the leading Enterprise Data Protection Platform for Salesforce. Designed by Salesforce data experts to handle large data volumes and complex data models, Odaseva offers Salesforce architects and platform owners the most powerful and secure tools available to solve the problems at the foundation of the Salesforce data value chain: backup & restore, data archiving, data compliance, and data automation.
Global Enterprises leveraging Salesforce as a mission-critical application like Schneider Electric and ENGIE rely on Odaseva to ensure business continuity, drive performance at scale, comply with regulations, and secure data operations with power and control.
What are the values that drive you at Odaseva ?
At Odaseva, we value trust, customer centricity, employee engagement, excellence, continuous innovation, and teamwork.
How did you end up working with Impulsa ?
Initially, I had asked Grégoire Proust, the CEO of Impulsa, for a statutory auditor's mandate for a capital increase, but unfortunately it didn't happen. Shortly after our first fundraising, I wanted to structure our financial management and on the advice of one of our investors, Serena capital, I therefore recontacted Grégoire.
On which missions ?
We started working with Impulsa through Grégoire as part of a financial management mission from 2018 to our Series B. Impulsa accompanied us on the accounting aspect of this mission, greatly facilitating all the exchanges in this respect. After our Series B, we made the decision to bring accounting in-house, and Impulsa supported us in setting up and training our new team.
How would you describe the relationships you maintain with your various interlocutors within Impulsa?
At the beginning of our relationship, I was very involved in financial matters and therefore in almost daily contact with Grégoire Proust and Romain Cornudet. Odaseva is experiencing massive growth and I needed to rely on flexible people who were available, responsive, and competent in their field. Odaseva was fortunate that Grégoire and Romain were two such people.
Beyond that, we have a relationship based on transparency and trust, which is very important to me.
Do you see the value that the One-Stop Shop can bring ?
Yes. In our case, the addition of the accounting mission to the existing DAF mission has allowed us to save considerable time on financial management and on decision-making.
The final word:
As the data management needs of enterprise Salesforce customers evolve and grow, Odaseva is at the forefront of architecting solutions for new challenges. We welcome you to follow our journey.
